EADS holds first annual North America investor forum in New York City

  • CEO Philippe Camus: "A Major Step Forward in EADS Involvement with U.S. Financial Community."

New York, New York, October  07, 2003

EADS, the world's second largest aerospace and defense company, today held its inaugural North America Investor Forum in New York City. Analysts and investors from across the United States took part in this one-day event along with top executives from EADS. This is the first event of its kind for EADS outside of Europe and signals its intention to increase its involvement with the U.S. financial community.

Speaking at the Forum, CEO Philippe Camus said, "I believe that EADS has become one of the most compelling global value stories in our industry. As a strategic part of our company's evolution, it is important that we enhance our involvement with the U.S. financial community. I believe that we are at the beginning of a new and dramatic growth cycle, and EADS will strengthen its leadership position in our full range of commercial and defense businesses."

An array of top EADS executives showcased the company's strong momentum in commercial aviation, defense systems and products, and space. Featured speakers were Philippe Camus, CEO; Hans-Peter Ring, CFO; Ralph Crosby, Chairman and CEO of EADS North America; Jean-Louis Gergorin, Head of Strategic Coordination; John Leahy, EVP Customer Affairs and Chief Commercial Officer for Airbus; and Pierre de Bausset, Senior Vice President of Investor Relations.

"Not only has EADS increased its leadership in the commercial aviation market through its highly successful range of Airbus products; it has also created the second largest order book in the global defense industry. And this is just the beginning."

Camus added: "At the same time, we have maintained stability in our cash flow and profitability, despite the pressures of the continuing weakness in the aerospace market."

EADS emphasized that the North America Investor Forum is a milestone in the company's U.S. financial strategy and that additional significant developments can be expected in the future.

"As part of the global strategy of EADS, we will discuss a possible future listing of EADS on the New York Stock Exchange," Camus noted. "We view participation in the U.S. financial markets as a key element of being a dynamic corporate citizen in America."

EADS is traded on the Paris, Frankfurt, and Madrid stock exchanges. The company will release its 2003 third quarter results on November 6.
