Washington, D.C., March 12, 2004

The horrifying terrorist attacks in Madrid on 11 March have shocked the world.

At this moment of sadness and pain EADS would like to express their solidarity with the victims of these in-describable acts of terror and with the thousands of persons who are now experiencing pain and uncertainty in Madrid. The company would like to offer them its deepest sympathies and wishes to emphasise that it stands beside them in condemning such vile and cowardly acts as those which took place in Madrid on 11 March.

EADS CEOs Philippe Camus and Rainer Hertrich have offered their sympathy in a letter of compassion to the Spanish Prime Minister and the Mayor of Madrid.

A minute ’s silence will be observed throughout the company today at 12 o ’clock (Central European Time) as a mark of solidarity with the victims and their families.
