Fairchild Controls receives Tech Council of Maryland’s “High Technology Firm of the Year” award

Frederick, Maryland, May 21, 2009

Fairchild Controls, a business unit of EADS North America, has been named the High Technology Firm of the Year in the state of Maryland, recognizing the company’s excellence in technology and products for aerospace and defense applications.

The selection was announced by the Tech Council of Maryland at its annual industry excellence awards dinner, which drew more than 800 influential business leaders and congressional representatives, along with state and local officials.

Fairchild Controls was among five companies nominated from a statewide pool of high technology organizations, specializing in fields ranging from wireless data communications and information technology to aerospace manufacturing.

The award was based on measureable marketplace success, a crisply executed growth strategy, and a sustained track record in developing innovative products and services relevant to global customers. Fairchild Controls President Scott Selle accepted the award on behalf of the company’s employees.

“This reflects our team’s passionate commitment to providing innovative technology and industry-leading value to our aerospace and defense customers worldwide,” Selle said. “It is a particular honor to be selected from our peers in the state of Maryland, which is home to a diverse range of cutting-edge companies.”
