Fairchild Controls Highlights its TP-25 Air Turbine Motor at the C-130 Technical Coordination Group Worldwide Review Conference

Frederick, Maryland, October  26, 2009

EADS North America’s Fairchild Controls business unit is participating in this week’s C-130 Technical Coordination Group (TCG) Worldwide Review Conference in Jacksonville, Florida. The company is highlighting its capability to supply TP-25 air turbine motors for the global fleet of C-130 Hercules airlifters from the A version through early H-model aircraft.

Fairchild Controls resumed new OEM (original equipment manufacturer) production of the air turbine motors last year for the first time in over a decade. The company previously manufactured more than 2,000 TP-25s during a 50-year production run that concluded in 1993.

The TP-25 is a 25-shaft horsepower turbine that works with an integrated gas turbine compressor and a 20 kVA generator to supply aircraft electrical power.

Fairchild Controls builds the TP-25 air turbine motors at its Frederick, Maryland facility, and the company also provides full-service aftermarket support for repair and overhaul of the units.

“This week’s C-130 TCG Conference is an important gathering for U.S. and allied nations operating this legendary airlifter. We are attending the conference to reinforce our ability to keep the TP-25 supply chain operational,” said Fairchild Controls President Scott Selle.

The company’s exhibit at the C-130 TCG Conference, taking place Oct. 26-30, will be located at booth #132.
