Airbus Americas

Airbus has a major presence in the North American market, with its family of jetliners becoming the aircraft of choice for all types of airlines in both the U.S. and Canada – from major carriers and cargo airlines to the new generation of low-cost operators. Through September 2007, more than 2,500 Airbus aircraft have been ordered by North American customers, and over 1,800 deliveries have been made in this marketplace.

Airbus Americas’ activity is headquartered in Herndon Virginia near Washington, D.C. and the company’s 24-hour spares center also is in Virginia, at Ashburn. The Airbus North America Engineering design center in Wichita, Kansas works on programs that include the A340 and A380, while a second engineering center is being built in Mobile, Alabama. The company’s southernmost U.S. facility is the $50 million Airbus Training Center in Miami, which houses a full range of full-flight simulators, trainers and computer-based training programs.
