American Eurocopter is a leading provider of helicopters in the U.S. for military, commercial, police enforcement, homeland defense and other operators. The nearly 400 customers flying some 1,300 Eurocopter rotary-wing aircraft in the United States include the U.S. Army (acquiring up to 322 UH-72A Light Utility Helicopters), U.S. Coast Guard (which operates approximately 100 HH-65s); the U.S. Border Patrol; U.S. Customs; FBI; federal, state and local government agencies; hospitals and emergency medical services; corporate and business customers, and tourism operators. American Eurocopter’s U.S. operations are headquartered in Grand Prairie, Texas, and a new facility at Columbus, Mississippi, which handles the build-up of U.S. Army UH-72As, assembly and customization of the A-Star helicopter, production of A-Star components and the re-engining of U.S. Coast Guard HH-65s.
