EADS North America Defense Appoints Michael A. Hough to its Board of Directors

Arlington, Virginia, August  08, 2006

Michael A. Hough (Lieutenant General, U.S. Marine Corps, Ret.) has joined EADS North America Defense's Board of Directors, bringing significant experience in program management, acquisition, research & development, and flight operations.

"We welcome Michael Hough to our 10-member Board of Directors, and look forward to his insights and the benefit of his broad experience in military operations, systems development and acquisition," said John H. Young, Jr., the President and Chief Executive Officer of EADS North America Defense.

Prior to his retirement from active duty with the U.S. Marine Corps on January 1, 2006, Hough's assignments included the Deputy Commandant for Aviation; Director of the Joint Strike Fighter Program; Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy, Expeditionary Forces Programs; and Branch Head, Aviation Weapons Systems Requirements Branch at Marine Corps headquarters.

As a qualified fighter pilot and flight instructor, Hough had numerous operational assignments, including logistics officer for the fighter attack squadron VMFA-122 in Kanehoe, Hawaii (flying F-4Bs); maintenance and operations officer with VMFA-451/Marine Air Group-31 at Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, South Carolina; Commanding Officer of VMFA-312 (with F/A-18s); and Commanding Officer of Marine Air Group-24 in Hawaii.

He is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy with a B.S. in Applied Science, and attended the U.S. Air Force Command and Staff College at Maxwell AFB, as well as the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
